Golfing in Lanzarote

Lanzarote, with its all year round sunshine, is the perfect place to holiday, relax and play golf, now with the new 18 hole golf course (Lanzarote Golf) recently completed in Puerto del Carmen  we have a course right on our door step.

Lanzarote Golf - is situated on the main road between Puerto Del Carmen and Tias, and is less than a 5 minute drive from all our Puerto Del Carmen properties.
Designed by Rob Kirby the course opened early 2008, and has yet to have its inauguration (Planned for later in the year). Lanzarote Golf has the makings of being a beautiful course once it has fully matured, and proudly boasts breath taking views across Puerto Del Carmen and the Atlantic Ocean.

By the end of 2008, Lanzarote Golf will be complimented with a fully equipped, hi-tec golf school and training facility which will include a fully grassed driving range and putting area.

Talking from experience - Our comments are  - For a new course the greens and fairways are in lovely condition, a bit more forgiving than “Costae’gusie golf” (at the moment) however it is definitely not as easy as it looks, and has some interesting features exclusive to Lanzarote.

Te’Guise Golf – is situated in Costa Te Guise about a 20 minute drive from Puerto Del Carmen. This 18 hole golf course lies at the foot of an old volcano and has breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The course, was designed by British landscape architect John Harris, and was opened in 1978.
Now 30 years old, every fairway is tree lined with mature palm trees, making it one of the most challenging courses in the Canary Islands.

Talking from experience - Our comments are – Very difficult course, and not for the faint hearted, greens and fairways are very lush, only complaints are that the greens are all “crowned” and the driving range is tired.

Reservations and Tee times for both courses can be made either through ourselves or direct at the club houses.

Buggies, Trolleys and Golf clubs are available for hire.
